I've been thinking for quite some time that the apophysis prescence on dA is nothing like it used to be, even a few years ago. Sure it seems like there's some new artists, but nothing like before. That being said, I'd like to move to effect a change. I'm issuing a CHALLENGE TO ALL APOPHYSIS USERS.

Anyone of any talent/skill is welcome to join in. The rules are simple an outlined below. I will not ask that parameters be shared, as I know how precious these are to some of you. However, if you wish to share your work, feel free to do so. I really wish this to be both a learning experience for all of us, and inspiration, as well as a way to improve and see new styles and ideas. I welcome suggestions for future challenges via Notes.

Additionally, keep tuned into the rules, as this is the first challenge, they may be tweaked here and there. As I mentioned above, this challenge is more for building than winning, although there will be a prize. After the deadline, anyone is invited to vote on their favorite fractal, via a note to me. One vote per user. After 3 days, votes will be compiled, and the winner will receive a feature either from myself, or if someone else volunteers to feature as well, in their journal too.

----------
RULES
----------

1.) Follow the challenge guidelines.
2.) Entries must be posted here in this journal, before deadline.
3.) Only one entry per artist.
4.) Keep postwork to a minimum (small adjustments/tweaks, watermarks)
5.) Have fun!!!

CHALLENGE
-----------------

We're going to kick this challenge off with a rather easy start to get our feet wet.
Create a rings2 style fractal with a twist.
If your unfamiliar with the technique, here is a link to get your started: clairejones.deviantart.com/art…
Example:
Learn the base technique first, then give it your own personal style. I understand that the style does have it's limits, so let's push them as far as possible and see what happens. I'm looking forward to your support and seeing some awesome work!

Challenge Deadline: November 6th 11:59pm
